galera.club is a platform for residents and businesses in cities all over Brazil. We care deeply about your privacy and built this space on the principles of transparency, user sovereignty over the algorithm, and security. This policy explains how we collect, use and protect your data in full compliance with Brazil's General Data Protection Law (LGPD - Law No. 13,709/2018).
1. Data we collect and why
We only collect the information strictly needed for the platform to work:
- Account data: Display name, username (handle), email and profile photo. We collect this to identify and authenticate users on the platform, and to send messages the account needs to work, such as email confirmation, password resets and security notices.
- Optional communications: If you allow it under Marketing and updates, we use your email to talk about galera.club itself: platform news, new features and tips for your link page. We never send messages on behalf of third parties and never hand your email to another company. You can turn this off whenever you like, in settings or through the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every message.
- Location you provide: The city you tell us, used to show relevant posts in your community's local feed. We do NOT track your precise location in real time.
- User-generated content: Posts, photos and comments you choose to publish in the shared feed or the market.
- Consent preferences: Your choices about cookies, notifications and anonymous usage statistics.
2. Your rights under the LGPD
As the data subject, you have full control over your personal information on galera.club:
Access and portability
You can view all your data and export it in a structured format (JSON) at any time, right from your profile panel.
Right to be forgotten
You can permanently delete your profile and all associated content straight from your account, no red tape.
Correction and updates
You can edit your name, bio, tags and other preferences on your profile instantly.
Withdrawing consent
You can turn notification permissions and optional tools on or off in your privacy settings.
3. Sharing and storage
Your public profile data and posts are visible to other community members, as is the nature of a social network. We never sell or share your personal data with third parties for commercial purposes. Your data lives in a PostgreSQL database on servers under our own control, with access limited to the team that runs the platform and traffic encrypted end to end.
4. Cookies and local storage
We use localStorage and necessary cookies strictly to keep you signed in (active session) and remember your layout preferences. Other performance statistics are only turned on if you explicitly consent through our Consent Banner.
